With the FIREPLACE light-object, created by young design talent G.Wahrmann, CARL MERTENS has succeeded in reinterpreting the origins of fire and revolutionised the concept of the “ open hearth” in the living room. Two stainless steel cylinders, positioned one above the other, assume the role of burning logs of wood. Together with the discreet, slate base-plate, they form an unusual light-object, which design enthusiasts will quickly warm to.

In earlier times the fireplace was essential to life, providing energy, light and warmth, and it has always held a special fascination for human beings. FIREPLACE creates a campfire atmosphere for contemporary nomads.
